Learning My Own Name

I can do it Mom!

The past couple of weeks Reagan has changed everything in the house from “mine” to “it’s Reagan’s.” It is the funniest thing listening to her explain that her toy piano is Reagan’s. All the toys in her toy box are Reagan’s. She has started to realize that she has an identity of her own and she absolutely loves expressing it.

To urge her along I purchased a two step wooden stool from Reagan’s Closet. It is made of birch wood and has her name puzzled right into the top of the lid. It’s the best stool because not only does she get to use it to wash her hands or help mom in the kitchen it has a storage compartment under the top step so she can store more of “Reagan’s” stuff!

Brian and I love watching her pull the letter pieces out and tell us what each letter is. There is so much joy when she gets to put them back into their appropriate place. We get to show her that her letters spell her name and she can say each letter as she puts the puzzle together.

Two Step Name Puzzle available at www.reaganscloset.com

At times she will get a bit frustrated because she won’t get the piece in quite right but when she does get it…watch out! She’s on a roll! Having two “a’s” in her name can be confusing for her as well but she is learning. More and more she is starting to sing her ABC’s and she loves spelling her name.  She takes great pride in telling people her name is Reagan! I love watching my daughter’s genius at work!

Shop Reagan’s Closet for this Two Step Name Stool and other fantastic toys for toddler!
