Happy 2nd Birthday Reagan!

Today is Reagan’s second birthday! My baby is no longer a baby! She is a full blown toddler with a full blown personality, attitude and independent demeanor. I can’t believe how quickly two years came and went. It seems like yesterday I was bringing her home from the hospital and wondering what the hell came next. Nothing quite prepares you for having your own child. Then one day you finally do and you try your hardest not to screw it up and lose your sanity in the process!

Rey’s birthday party was this past Saturday and it was a blast, once we got her out of her initial shyness. We had fifty of our closest friends and family come to celebrate the big event at a local park. Note to parents with future birthdays…OPEN PRESENTS FIRST! Nothing will get your child more ready for seeing a plethora of people all at once than opening gifts. Unfortunately…we didn’t get that memo and we opened presents last. For the first half hour or so of her party she clung to each grandmother, aunt or daddy because she was so overwhelmed by the number of people and all attention on her. Not something I would have thought to prepare for. Once she opened her gifts she was an entirely new child. Nothing bothered her at that point!

Overall she was a great sport! She laughed when we all sang her Happy Birthday and she blew out her number 2 candle like a champ! She tasted her monkey cupcake with a huge smile on her face. She played on the slides as Grandpa David looked on and rallied her good spirits! She played with her new toys (she got so many!) and ran around with her cousins and friends.

Second birthday conquered! Good food, fun new play toys, great friends and family and a wonderful party! I couldn’t have asked for more!! Enjoy the pictures!
