Reagan has been two for all of a week and lately her favorite new play time activity is to throw birthday parties for her “babies.” I had an entirely different post to write this morning based on my latest finished book Fifty Shades of Grey, (yep…I did it, I read it too) but when I walked into Rey’s room this morning she was singing Happy Birthday to Ellie, her elephant, and making her a cake.
It was one of the sweetest sites I have seen since, oh…yesterday! There is always something new and exciting going on in the world of Reagan these days. Especially now that she has gotten so many new fun things to do and play items for her birthday. We colored for a solid hour yesterday with some new twistable crayons. By the way…coolest crayons ever! Where were those when we were kids!? She insisted on drawing a picture for Mr. Fishy, our new family mascot. Speaking of which that reminds me we need to go feed him. Oh pet responsibilities, it’s been a while!
Reagan is sitting on her bed with Ellie and her other stuffed animals and out of nowhere belts out “Happy Birthday!” She slides off her bed, opens her dresser drawer (bottom two are filled with toys ~ smartest thing I ever did!) and grabs a makeshift birthday cake that goes with a new Barbie she got for her birthday. She climbs back onto the bed, spreads out Ellie’s blanket and settles her animals around it. Again, she starts singing Happy Birthday. So cute, I almost died laughing. Instantly I grabbed my camera and snapped photos of the big event!
So this morning instead of reveling you with my thoughts on Fifty Shades of Grey we had a birthday party for Ellie, thrown by my two year old. As I sit here typing up this post Reagan is dressing herself up to go shopping. It’s truly hilarious! That’ll be for Monday!
