Have you ever thought about what people might think if they saw what goes on behind-the-scenes at your house? Do you ever wonder what it would be like to catch a glimpse of someone else’s daily life? Here’s your chance.
Today 15 bloggers are inviting you into their homes to be a Fly on the Wall.
(Thank Karen from Baking in a Tornado for this fabulous idea!)
Welcome inside the home of Raising Reagan ~
Sweet, an open door. I think I can make it in before lady with the crazy, curly hair closes it on me. Here we go…Phew, that was close; she didn’t see me! What do we have here? Moderate home, too clean for my taste. Damn, I’ll never find anything sticky to lay in for a while and enjoy myself. Crap! The windows are all shut and now I’m stuck. Way to pick ‘em genius.
Holy hell, what is this? Screaming toddler running down the stairs…Ka-Ching! Toddlers are the best, they leave crap everywhere and they are walking mess makers. There will be food around sooner than later. Hmm…cute kid. Blonde, blue eyes, big smile on her face. What’s she so happy about? Jesus, watch where you’re going kid; you about clipped my wing. Don’t swat your hands at me you little snot nosed brat! Yeah…get! Go sit on the couch and chill. I’m going to explore.
Oh hey, the kitchen. I’m sure there will be some goodies in here for me to snack on. Oh no, curly haired woman again. Taking out the garbage huh? Boo. I was hoping to exploit that for a while. No way…the trash bag just split in half. There is garbage ALL OVER THE FLOOR! I’m on it. Whoa, this lady says dammit a lot. Speaking of dammit, here comes the kid again.
“No Rey,stay away! Leave it alone,” says angry mom. Of course she’s not going to listen, she’s a toddler. Why are you bothering to yell at her?
Nice kid..stick that dirty straw in your mouth. Now we’re talking!
“Rey NO! Icky, get out of it!”
“No, mama! Leave me alone!” Happy child becomes pissed and storms off. What a temper on her. She must take after her mother. This is boring, I’m going to go see what the kid is doing.
What’s she got? An iPad? Wow, she can work that pretty good. It would take me a month to figure out how to turn it on. Cats, I hate cats. They always try to nip at me when I buzz around them. Wait, it’s a digital cat. That’s better. Let’s check this out.
“I want milk!’ Why is the kid yelling at the cat?
“I want milk!” High pitched scream comes from the cat. What the?
“No, I want milk!” Kid.
“No..I want milk!” Cat. The pitch is getting higher.
“No, I want milk!” Kid.
“NO, I WANT MILK!” Cat. Agh, my delicate ears!
“Rey, are you in a fight with Tom the Cat again?” asks mom.
“Fight with Tom the Cat again.” The cat repeats back. Oh wow, this is annoying. Let’s check out something else.
What’s on TV? I’ve seen this before. It’s called Monkey See, Monkey Do. A couple houses ago I saw it. Whoa, watch it toddler! What’s she doing now? Dancing! Check out the moves on her. Clapping hands, spinning in circles. Whoops..too many spins huh? How’s that floor feel?
“Reagan, it’s nap time!”
“No mama, I don’t wan’t to nap. I gotta work.” Work? What toddler works? Alright I’m curious. Where’s she going now? Back upstairs. Ok, I’m game. Wow…is the whole house really this clean? This is ridiculous.
Nice desk kid! It would look better with some grape juice spilled all over it. Why don’t you take care of that for me; I’m thirsty. NO WAY! My wish is her command! SCORE! Crap, here comes crazy, curly haired mom again.
“Oh my God Reagan! Really?! Look at this mess!” Calm down chick, it’s just a small spill. It’s really not that bad. This woman does not like messy things does she? Oh man, my entertainment is off to nap. Now what am I gonna do?
Oh shit…crazy lady saw me. This is gonna hurt!

Hahaha sooo funny. Love this!!
PS: Come help me clean my house, please? Cleaning things is like…not my favorite thing to do.
Haha! My mother beat it into me as a child
Great post, I love that you wrote it from the perspective of the fly.
Thank you! It was fun to write.
What a fun take on this challenge! I loved it!
Awesome! I'm glad you liked it!
Dude….I could have written this! I have a 3 year old very much like that!
Kids are so funny! It's amazing how many different emotions we go through in a day!
Love the perspective! Oh, and I miss having toddlers around the house
Funny though, I still can't keep my house clean!
That's hilarious! I am really trying to let go of needing to be a clean freak all the time! Especially having a toddler in the house!
I just LOVE what you did with this. It is sweet and funny all at once. You totally rocked it. As an added bonus, if anyone ever asks if I know what it's like to see the world from a fly's perspective, I can say I do.
Yeah mama! You are the brains of this outfit! We are merely your followers! Thank you for giving us a great challenge!
What a great writing idea! Oh that dreadful Tom Cat app–I deleted mine when my daughter was sleeping. It was either me or the cat lol. I feel for you. I'm in the toddler and pre-school stage and I shudder to think of what a fly on the wall would see and hear
I'm kind of a dim bulb today, so tell me how I can follow your blog. Thanks!
Please, please, please come clean my house. LOL!
What is the iPad cat all about? Violet loves kitties,
Oh my God ~ DON'T DO IT!! It's Tom the Cat app and it repeats back everything you say! Beware…I'm only warning you once.
You are too funny
I'm five seconds from killing Tom the Cat!
The best way is through Bloglovin! I absolutely love it because it gives me a nice, neat reader list! Or you could always subscribe via RSS (at the very top) Thanks mama!
i am totally in love with this post, what an awesome idea!!! i love the fly discovering the kid…always leaving stuff around! hahaha great idea!
Thanks Jen ~ I figured she's the most interesting thing in my life so why not have the fly follow her
What an fantastic perspective! I loved it
That fly would have a field day at my house lol!
I'm sure it would have a couple field days! haha!
What a fun post!
LOL!! Though I'm sulking a bit that you have such a clean house despite having a toddler!! But great take on the prompt!!
My recent post A tradition (warning: photo-heavy post!)
Thank you! One of my biggest faults and a resolution of mine is to not be so tidy all the time..just let her be a kid!
I love this. This is amazing. I have often thought about what other's would think if they were a fly on the wall in my house. Most Saturday mornings, I am sure it would be CLEAN YOUR HOUSE! This is an awesome idea. Happy I found you from The Hop.
My recent post Happy National Adoption Day!
Thank you for coming by and commenting! I'm so glad you liked it…
On an unrelated note … I was reading your blogs and couldn't believe I cleaned out my fridge on National Clean our Your Refrigerator day without knowing it!
Oh what a great series… it seems to me as if something is always going on in your house =)
I know…what is that all about?? Thanks for reading!
this was so entertaining!!
LOVE IT!
Thank you Sarah! I'm so glad you enjoyed it
Oh this was too funny – and very entertaining. Love it.
Thanks mama!
Oh my goodness. Your pretty good at portraying the fly on the wall. It kind of reminds me of conversations that the flys on Racing Stripes have. I love the layout of your page and all of the happenings on your home page. Hey dammit is better than other words so I'd say your safe haha.
Yes..I will take dammit over some of the other choice words out there! Thanks for commenting Amy.
That was hilarious! You've got a great writing style from the fly's point of view…don't think I could've pulled that one off!
My recent post meet my november lovelies.
Thanks mama! It was a fun post to write
