Well ~ we did it…We finally gave Brian’s grandmother’s car back to her and purchased a new car for Brian. Our first ever brand new, right off the dealership lot car! So excited! Let me hook you up with some background…

East Coast family
- October 2011 …Brian loses his job that he’s had for the past eleven years because upper management decided they were paying him too much money despite him posting record sales and on the verge of blowing up his department. (Well the joke is on those idiots because after they let him go they have not posted a profit once and lost more key managers — to the point that corporate stepped in! Ha! Jerks…)\
- November 2011 …We move away from the East coast where we’d been living for the past five and a half years to our home back in California to be closer to our family. Brian starts looking for work.

West Coast family
- December 2011 …Brian’s grandmother loses her license to drive because she’s not able to so she has a vehicle that Brian can use for the time being. This will prevent us from being a one car family. Gives me my freedom and stops me from going completely crazy.
- Fast forward a year to December 2012 …Brian starts his new career in insurance and we are finally able to give back his grandmother’s car. Grateful that we didn’t have to pay for a rental car or worry about car payments it was a true blessing.
- January 2013 …Purchase aforementioned new car!

2013 Subaru Legacy Limited
What do you think? Pretty huh? It’s still taking me some time to get used to because it’s low to the ground and I am used to my SUV. We bought a second car seat for Reagan so we don’t have to switch whenever we switch cars. It does get much better gas mileage than my GMC Acadia…so Brian and I will swap depending on who is driving more that day. But…I am happy. We bought a car!

Love it. Where I live (on a dirt road), I could never, ever have a white car. I'm jealous.
My recent post Ten Reasons Why I Love My Husband
LOL ~ That's what my SUV is for! It's a pretty metallic mocha color so I always take that if I know dirt is on the horizon. Haha!
Yay! I love it!

Thanks Niki ~ it's super pretty. I'm impressed myself!
You got a pretty one too!! I really like that and congrats!

Thank you Jamie ~ my hubby and I had to fight over the color but I won out and we got the pearl white. I didn't want black leather interior in the summer in 114 degree heat!
Awesome Lanaya and love his new car. So happy for you guys!!!!
Thank you Janine ~ I don't mind driving it myself!
Nice!! We recently sold my old clunker so are now down to one vehicle which is hard for me since I've never had to share! I'm not so good at sharing
I know the feeling. We are so thankful that Brian's grandmother lent us her car for all that time. I'm not good at sharing either and I LOVE my SUV! It's mine!
Whoop whoop! Congrats you guys! I love Subis! But I love my VW Routan more! LOL When we bought it in June 2011 it was between it and an Acadia. I ultimately decided on the Routan because of convenience! Push button automatic sliding doors…YES Please! And the rear entertainment package with two screens and the ability to play two different movies at the same time…you can imagine it is amazingly quiet in the car when we have to make longer than usual trips! LOL
Yeah yeah I know that means I am a mini-van mom! …and I always said I would NEVER drive a mini-van. But I love it! Brian does too (shh…don't tell him I told you LMAO!!)
XOXO

When we were buying my Acadia that was one SUV we didn't look at. I used to own a Jetta (all be it was in the 80's) but I swore I would never own another Volkswagon. I love the power liftgate and DVD players too
I know yours has sliding doors but ~ no minivan for me. I'm glad you like yours! And I won't say a thing about your Brian loving himself a minivan! Haha
The Acadia is definitely nice! And roomy
and oh yes the power lift gate! I have scared a lot of people with that thing LOL. I usually hit the button when I am a good distance away (you know so I can throw the stroller in and go) but some how manage to do it while someone is walking by LOL
I love my VW! I am sure they make them better now than they did in the 80s silly! LOL plus the extra maintenance gave us piece of mind. We received free maintenance from VW (oil changes, tune ups, loaner vehicle etc) for for three years on top of the 3 years 36K bumper to bumper. Plus the dealership gave us an additional two years of maintenance which is awesome! No repair bills for 5 years except tires
YES again!
We bought Brian a new truck a couple of days after getting the Routan. But he really wanted a WRX! They were so hard to find here!! When we showed up at the only dealership that had one…they had just sold it.
So he test drove a Nissan GT-R instead LOL He had me and the salesperson clutching the arm rests when it was all said and done. But wouldn't you know it…now he wants the new '13 Subaru BRZ….can you tell he is S-P-O-I-L-E-D!

Yes I would say so!! I have a picture of Reagan "test driving" the BRZ when we were at the dealership!! And I totally do that to with my liftgate, and remote start! It freaks people out!
So jealous! I can't wait to buy a second car so I can get some of my sanity back. We can't decide what to buy when the time comes, I would like something better on gas mileage but I love my SUV.
Yes…it's hard to beat the SUV but I am glad we got our new Legacy. It's super pretty and I love that it has a gas mileage meter that shows you optimal driving speeds. It's pretty cool! 34 miles to that gallon on the freeway ~ I'll take it!
Yes that gas mileage rocks!!
My neighbor and his wife both have Legacy's

Absolutely! I'll get you all the deets in a couple months
Break it in a little bit!
Funny… coincidentally, we bought a car too! We'd been a one car family almost two months. And we got one on Monday. Congratulations!

Thanks sweet girl … what is up with our kids all puking at the same time?
Congrats!! That's so awesome! It's worth buying a new car just for the new car smell!! I remember when I bought my car 13 years ago. I instantly fell in love with it, and I love it even more today. So here's to a long, enjoyable relationship with your new car! (Is that weird? Is it odd that I used the word relationship?? lol)
Yes, I LOVE the new car smell. It's fun switching between the new car and my SUV because my SUV smells like grape scented boogie wipes!
