4 Things To Do When It’s Raining Outside

Although you might assume that children are the ones who need entertainment on a rainy day, adults too become bored; sadly, it’s a trait we never outgrow (we simply learn to disguise it better than the kids, that’s all). So what can you do if the weather prevents you from going out? Fortunately, there are lots of indoor suggestions to help you stay entertained. Read on to find out more.

Practice Baking

Time spent in the kitchen is time well spent on a dreary day. You probably already have everything you need, as many recipes simply require a few basic ingredients. Grab some recipes from the web, crack open that cookbook you’ve owned for years but haven’t used, or simply wing it. The end outcome might not be perfect, but it will still taste good. There are so many resources online to help you, from the recipes themselves to additional decoration ideas like Christmas cookie stencils printable options, and you’re sure to find something you can do and enjoy.

Play Games

Having a friendly game of Monopoly or Risk with your family or friends can be a great way to pass the time on a rainy day if you’re stuck inside. When you recall how to play them, classic board games like Monopoly, Scrabble, and Clue are suddenly a lot of fun again.

Remember to bring your phone if you’ll be alone and you don’t feel like playing any traditional games. You can play any number of games on it that you download from the app store.

Plan A Vacation

If you’re stuck indoors due to bad weather, you might start fantasizing about sunny beaches, refreshing drinks, and warm temperatures. You could go on a relaxing beach vacation, or you could go on an exciting adventure trip where you kayak through canyons and abseil off of cliffs. Now is the time to start making preparations for the vacation of your dreams.

Create an itinerary using the internet by making a list of all the sites you want to see or activities you want to participate in. You can find out about costs and times, in addition to gaining access to a wealth of other suggestions for where to go and what to do. You could even book it if you’re feeling really brave (or if you’ve been considering it for a while).

Movie Marathon

A rainy day inside is the perfect opportunity to watch all those movies and TV series you’ve been meaning to get around to watching but haven’t yet. Relax with a bowl of popcorn and a mug of something warm and comforting and press play. Life is too short to go through a boring movie, though, so if you aren’t enjoying it after the first 15 minutes, it’s probably best to move on. It’s true that this is a lazy thing to do, but it’s also a lot of fun and it doesn’t happen very often, so take advantage of it while you can.
